GETTING UP AND MOVING AROUND

I tried to get each one while he/she was up on their feet but some did not cooperate as well as others....but here is a picture of each of them, as well as a group photo.

Will not be over to see the pups and do more pix til Saturday of this week, when I will weigh them all also.  Today already did their nails (MUCH to their displeasure and also that of Jazz who was sure I was torturing them!)

SPOTS ARE BECOMING MORE VISIBLE!

Sadly, I must report that little Teeny has gone to the hand of God. She passed during the night - not unexpectedly tho because she began to lose the little bit of weight she had gained, and was not as strong in wanting to nurse. Sometimes what we want is not always the result we get, but we know that we did all the right things for her, and her short life was a blessed one.

On a happier note, all the others are growing nicely and even trying to get up on their feet a little; soon their eyes will begin to crack open and then their ears will also open.

Here are some casual shots of them ( I tried to get closeups of all of them individually without waking them up)...Green collar boy is now "No collar boy" cuz we ran out of dark green ribbon and it is easy to tell him apart without a collar - so the boys are blue, gray, patched and no collar; girls are red, pink, lite green and patched.

I will see them again on Tuesday, and will do another blog update that evening.

ONE WEEK OLD!!!!!

It hardly seems possible that an entire week has gone by - seems just yesterday that we were sitting beside the box, just a-watchin and a-waiting -- til FINALLY there is a puppy - and then more puppies til all 9 made their appearance.

So - today was collar change day (if needed), weigh in and nail trimming.

First --  here is patched boy (was 10.8 oz and is now 17.3 oz)....

Blue collar boy (was 11.36 and now 17)

Gray collar boy (was 8.48 and now 15.2)

Green collar boy (was 9.1 and now 17.6)

Patched girl (was 9.6 oz and now 16.2)

Pink collar girl (was 10.2 and now 15.8)

Red collar girl (was 10.2 and now 15.5)

Lite green girl (was 9.9 and now 13.4)

Teeny (who was 3.84 and is now 4.6)...the marking on her back is just a bit of staining but we hesitate to get her too wet - later on Momma Jazz will clean her up.  We have now added some special vitamins to her daily intake.

Some pix of the gang and individual shots to show how the body spots are beginning to show - soon we will see the spotting on the hair and also the eyes will begin to open.

GETTING CUTER ALL THE TIME!!!!

First of all...here is Teeny - who has gotten longer in body and is beginning to show some color on her face. She nurses vigorously off Momma Jazz a few times a day and gets bottle feedings every couple of hours in addition. Momma Jazz accepts her and washes her but does not panic when she is removed.

On Thursday, one week old, all puppies will be weighed, have their first pedicure and more "individual" pix taken...so look for next update Thursday afternoon

LOOK HOW WE ARE GROWING!!!

Even Teeny is growing --  she is back up to her birth weight (it is normal for puppies to lose weight since some birthweight is fluid) so that means she is utilizing her food and is now increased her intake to 6 or 7 dropperfulls instead of the 3 which she began with.  We did put her on Momma Jazz for just a tiny bit and she latched right onto a nipple and Jazz did lick her and recognized her as one of the "brood". Will put her on Jazz once or twice a day but cannot leave her there since we need to keep her super warm (notice she now has a "friend" to cuddle up to!). Right now all her caloric intake must be used for growth and not for keeping warm.

Will do an update on Teeny on Tuesday, and maybe a picture or two of the group, but probably not do individual pix of the others til Thursday when we do our weekly weigh-in and collar change as needed.  One good way to determine how they are growing and gaining weight is to see how their collars become a bit tighter.
