PUPPIES HAVE ARRIVED!!!!!

Thursday, Sept. 18 - a long day, but ended with new babies - right now there are 9 - 5 girls and 4 boys - but one little girl is very small and quite fragile, so we do not know if she will make it.  She is being kept separate from mom and littermates and in a special heating box and being fed with a bottle every 2 hours to help her conserve her energy and use the calories from her formula to grow and not for too much movement around the larger box or to keep warm. Keeping fingers crossed for her.
Here is Jazz with big "sister" Bubbles showing her how to stretch out in the whelping (birthing) box (the ledges around the inside of the box are to prevent Momma dog from crushing a puppy behind her - they can go underneath the ledge...

Here are all of the puppies taken last night right after they were born.....

And today, with Momma Jazz - already they are growing!

left side black ear boy (10.8 oz)
right side black ear girl (9.6 oz)
pink collar girl (10.2 oz)
blue collar boy (11.4 oz)
gray collar boy (8.5 oz)
teeny girl (3.8 oz)
lite green collar girl (9.9 oz)
dark green collar boy (9.1 oz)
red collar girl (10.2 oz)
