A NEW APARTMENT!!!!

As we grow it is important for us to have more space to stretch our legs and to build up our muscles...and we also learn to leave our sleeping area and go to the other side to the papers for potty! Dalmatians are sooooo very clean and it is amazing to watch them toddle as far away as they can...even before their eyes are completely open!

Today's pictures are mostly group shots with some individuals featured here and there.

Today was also the first day of learning to lap from a dish...and as usual with Dalmatians - NO ONE HAS TO SHOW US TWICE WHEN FOOD IS INVOLVED! The mixture is a "tried and true" formula of evap. milk, water, yogurt, egg yolk and baby rice cereal and they will get this special formulation once a day for the next couple of days; then they will get it twice a day. After than we will begin adding in kibble dog food. Today we introduced them to the gruel one and two at a time, soon we will just put down the dishes and they will all get it at once and gradually we will up it to two dishes and to a much larger dish.  Always one small step at a time with new puppies so they are not overwhelmed.

All the puppies were weighed this morning and all are gaining at almost the same rate....just about 1/2 lb this past week - and next week after being fed in addition to momma Jazz they might even to up to 1 lb gain a week.
Here they are having "dessert" from Momma!

Full tummies and nice warmth from the heat lamp - which is why they look a bit pink! (they always get a big chilled from learning to lap and they get each other a bit wet and Mom gets them even wetter as she cleans them off!)

Next posting will be Monday, Columbus Day -- and at that time the litter theme will be revealed and each puppy will have a name in addition to collar ID.....STAY TUNED.....I think you will all be grinning when you see the theme!
